It has been exactly...one month since the incident. Apparently, it's all my fault. Being the little joke in the agency is fun and all until you get blamed for someone's decision to take a bullet for you. Now that...that's just awful. I didn't ask for that bullet to be taken by anybody else, but it happened. I do not get why I'm blamed on it and shunned by my own peers, even my buddies in the elite.

It was a cold, rainy day in the city. People cooped inside tall buildings in which they worked hours 5-6 days a week. A little woman heard thunder crash from outside. She looked behind her workstation to see raindrops on the window. Her freckled face lifted into a smile, for she loved the rain coming by for a visit during work. My phone's alarm sounded off. Beeping very loudly. I reached for it on the nightstand next to me and disabled it. Cadence's ringtone instantly went off, playing a verse from "The Party Starts Now". I answered it.
"Hey Cadence." My voice sounded sloppy and slow.
"Hey. Are you asleep?"
"Was." I rubbed my eyes "Everything okay?"
"You, you won't believe this," Her voice sounded worried.
I sat up straighter. "What happened?"
"The baby was kicking yesterday, very rapidly, like he was hurting me. And it hurt, so I took some medicine and it stopped kicking. Like instantly. I'm afraid I poisoned it, and I haven't gone to the doctor's office yet.
